Field hockey falls to Colby in non-conference matchup

BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University field hockey team dropped a 6-2 non-conference decision at home to Colby College on Sunday. Husson (3-4) gained an early 1-0 led seven minutes in to Sunday’s showdown, senior Teagan Blackie ripped a shot to the back of the Mules cage off an assist by sophomore Maddie Perkins. Colby (3-6) knotted the match at 1-1 with a goal in in the final minutes of the first quarter before benefiting from four goals in the second quarter to carry a 5-1 advantage into the halftime break.
