Park Center football earns first conference win of the season

Park Center football beat Irondale last week on Sept. 29, winning 19-0 to improve to 1-1 in conference, 2-3 overall. Irondale (0-5), a once-common opponent for the Pirates, returned to the schedule this season in the new-look Northstar West-Maroon Conference. On a night where many games were plagued by weather issues, a slightly earlier kickoff in Irondale eventually saw the Pirates evade the lighting and downpours to play a full four-quarter game on Friday.
