MARYVILLE, Tn. – Senior Joshua Szidik scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick with 30 seconds remaining to lead Berea College to a 2-1 win over Maryville Tuesday night. Szidik’s goal capped a second-half comeback for the Mountaineers, who fell behind 1-0 just 10 minutes into the game when Maryville’s Hayden MacDonald took a pass from Aidan McWilliams and was able to find the back of the net from 20 yards out.
