STM’s Franciliso, Christian’s Hill win state tennis titles

Alex Dodd St. Thomas More’s Athena Franciliso and Rapid City Christian’s Allison Hill capped the Class A Girls State Tennis Tournament with championships on Tuesday in Sioux Falls. Franciliso defeated Vermillion’s Annika Barnett 10-0 to win her second-straight Flight 1 singles championship. The Cavaliers junior also won the Flight 1 doubles title with teammate Shriya Gangineni. The tandem defeated Vermillion’s Barnett and Mya Halverson 10-2 to finish on top. Last season, Franciliso and Gangineni won the Flight 2 doubles title.
