Denton, Grau Finish Back to Back for Women’s Cross Country at NJIT Highlander XC Challenge

NEWARK, N.J. – Freshmen Skylar Denton (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Dayanara Grau (Union City, N.J.) finished just over a second apart, pacing Caldwell women’s cross country at the NJIT Highlander Challenge in a steady rain at Branch Brook Park. Denton placed 96th overall at 23:03.15, with Grau next at 23:04.22. Senior Dagnelly Sarmiento (Weehawken, N.J.) was the third scorer for Caldwell in 146th at 25:52.65. Next for Caldwell were soph Chennaya Tschopp (Belleville, N.J.; 27:28.75), junior Shamica Carey (Nassau, Bahamas; 29:24.56), and soph Michelle Martignoni Mercado (Fair Lawn, N.J.; 34:55.32.
