Marlins Win Back-to-Back Games in 3-1 win over Sewanee

The Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team (5-7, 1-2 ODAC) defeated Sewanee 3-1. The Marlins controlled the game in the first half as they outshot the Tigers 13-1, and tallied five corners compared to the Tigers’ zero. Katherine Druiett broke the deadlock as she scored in the 20th minute to give Virginia Wesleyan a 1-0 lead. The game opened up after the break as Shannon Gaffney gave the Marlins a 2-0 lead at the 46:00 minute mark with a nice shot.
