Mustangs fail to overcome early deficit against Cougars

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The SMSU women’s soccer team (2-7-1, 2-4-1 NSIC) lost to the University of Sioux Falls (3-5-2, 3-2-2 NSIC) on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 2-1. The Cougars got out to an early lead after a goal in the third minute by Sara Nelson. USF followed that up with a goal by Julia Kreutner in the 21st minute to go up 2-0. The Mustangs were able to get on the board with a goal off of a penalty kick by Selena Prolic in the 32nd minute. The goal was Prolic’s first goal of the season.…
