Shedeur Sanders’ $70,000 watch flex leading to NIL profits

BOULDER, Colo. (BVM) – Shedeur Sanders’ watch flex is becoming the most popular celebration in sports. The college football world, professional athletes and celebrities such as DJ Khaled certainly noticed when the Colorado QB flexed his $70,000 custom Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15500 (coated with 30 carats of VVS diamonds).

Nicknamed “The Shedeur,” the viral watch flex is viewed as controversial yet trendy – leading to cash profits in Sanders’ name, image and likeness (NIL).

SS2Legendary, which is Sanders’ official merchandise brand, sells a collection of hoodies and T-shirts that display images of the watch flex. The “legendary flex CU hoodies” sell for $100 each and are currently sold out in all sizes.

Additionally, Shedeur could soon book a six-to-seven-figure NIL watch deal; Deion Sanders hopes that a watch brand will officially sponsor this watch flex movement.

“We just got to get [Shedeur] a lucrative watch deal,” Deion said in a press conference on Tuesday. “He can’t keep doing it for free. He can’t keep doing it for nothing.”

Many can recall that Deion’s sunglasses made $1.2 million in sales after CSU coach Jay Norvell insulted his signature hat and sunglasses look. So, a sponsorship deal with a watch brand could produce a similar boom in sales.

“I’m done with the Shedeur Sanders watch thing,” Doug Gottlieb said on his show for Fox Sports Radio… “It’s the ultimate taunting, it’s spoiled rich guy stuff and if it was anybody else – that’s what we would say about them.”

So, why does Shedeur Sanders flex his watch? After Colorado defeated Arizona State, Shedeur ran up to the ASU crown to flex his watch, seemingly in response to the fans chanting “overrated,” – as shown on Shedeur’s Instagram post with the caption, “Perfect timing.”

Overall, as Yahoo Sports deems, Shedeur Sanders’ signature watch flex is becoming a cultural symbol. A watch deal may soon add to Shedeur’s $4.8 million NIL valuation, but the added recognition from this movement will only add to his overall NIL opportunities.

“By the time the season is over, [Shedeur] will have a shoe deal, a record deal, a car deal and every other deal that’s available to the University of Colorado and the NIL space,” former NFL player Keyshawn Johnson said as he discussed Shedeur’s watch flex on Undisputed
