MADISON, Wis. — The Lawrence University women’s tennis team picked up multiple victories Saturday on the opening day of the Midwest Conference Championships at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. In the quarterfinals at No. 2 singles, Anna Vanden Acker won a hard-fought first set against Monmouth’s Katherine Ramsenthaler 7-6 with a 7-0 victory in the tiebreaker. Vanden Acker then rolled to a 6-0 win in the second set. Grinnell’s Paige Sargent then knocked off Vanden Acker 6-2, 6-2 in the semifinals.
