Settles, Accetta Sweep SCAC Runner of the Week Awards

The Colorado College cross country teams swept the SCAC Runner of the Week honors, with James Settles winning the men’s award and Kendall Accetta earning the women’s. Both runners posted impressive results at the Augustana Invitational last Saturday in Rock Island, Ill. Settles finished second individually and broke a 37-year school record to lead the squad to a seventh-place finish among 43 Division III teams. Settles, who finished 60th at this meet last season, covered the 8K race in 24 minutes, 20.8 seconds, nine seconds faster than the previous school record of 24:29, set by Scott Kang in 1986. The…
