Hartford Slips Past Men’s Soccer in Home Finale

BOSTON, Mass. – Three different student-athletes tallied goals and sophomore Ryan Lunn (Southington, Conn.) made three saves as the University of Hartford men’s soccer team (3-6-2) defeated Wentworth Institute of technology (3-11-1), 3-0, Wednesday afternoon on Sweeney Field. HOW IT HAPPENED: Hartford had an early chance off a corner kick, however, the shot attempt by senior Nate Becher (Sorrento, Fla.) sailed over the crossbar. At the 24:30 mark, sophomore Nicholas Castrovinci (Ledgewood, N.J.) put the Hawks ahead when he scored off a shot to the lower middle after receiving a pass from Becher.
