Gloucester HS JV girls soccer: An undefeated season
GLOUCESTER, Va. —
Coach’s Name: Joseph Wright, GHS JV Girls Soccer, Spring 2023
Team Captains: Lilyan Wright for skill and leadership, Emily Baker for her dedication and fitness, and Addyson Zabicki for her leadership and mentorship of younger girls. These girls balanced the team and provided examples for the rest of the team to strive for both inside the classroom and on the pitch.
Team Info: This team is the first JV Lady Dukes soccer team in at least 10 years to go undefeated in regular season play. They placed “runner up” in the inaugural Keeper’s Cup Tournament. Most of this team has been together for many years working as a club team with Coach Craig Heaton and much of their success can be attributed to him and his years of coaching. This JV Lady Dukes team is just the beginning of what looks to be many years of great soccer from the Gloucester High School Lady Dukes, as local clubs have worked hard to provide a pathway for young females to grow and learn the sport.
