Linganore dominates Catoctin in high school volleyball showdown

In a local volleyball matchup, the Linganore Lancers swept the Catoctin Cougars in three sets. Kelsie Duda led the Lancers with 11 kills, 6 digs, and 1 ace, while Camryn Rawlett contributed 12 kills and 2 digs. Tuscarora also emerged victorious, defeating Winters Mill in three sets, with Zayna Brooks leading the way with 5 aces, 20 assists, and 7 digs. Meanwhile, the Urbana Hawks dominated Marriotts Ridge in a three-set win, with Kaelynn Burge leading the team with 19 assists, 10 digs, 1 kill, and 5 aces. In boys’ soccer, the Urbana Hawks secured a 2-1 victory over the Linganore Lancers, while the Oakdale Bears won 2-0 against Middletown, with goalkeeper Gary Wright making nine saves. In girls’ soccer, the Brunswick Railroaders defeated the South Hagerstown Rebels comfortably with a score of 10-0, with Shae Bastian and Ava Fritz each scoring two goals. The Oakdale Bears also emerged victorious, winning 5-0 against Middletown, with Caroline Atwill registering a goal and an assist.
