Women’s Ice Hockey Ties Syracuse, 4-4

BOSTON – The Boston University women’s ice hockey team (0-2-1, 0-2-0 HE) tied Syracuse (3-4-1, 0-0-0 CHA) 4-4 on Friday evening at Walter Brown Arena. After Syracuse built an early lead in the opening period, BU pulled ahead 3-2 late in the second. Syracuse tied things up two additional times in the final frame to force the game into overtime. No one scored during the extra minutes which led to a shootout that had no effect on the outcome of the tie. Junior Maggie Hanzel lit the lamp for the Terriers with her first-ever collegiate goal.
