Capital University’s men’s soccer team achieved a remarkable upset over No. 16 John Carroll on the road. The victory, their first against John Carroll since 2018, puts the Comets at 8-6-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the OAC. The game started strong for Capital with an early goal from Mujahid Abdel-Ghani in the 8th minute. They quickly added another goal via a free kick from Jarrett Puckett, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, Jack Kossoudji scored his seventh goal of the season to secure a 3-0 advantage for the Comets. Although John Carroll managed to score one goal, Capital maintained their lead and held them scoreless for the remaining time. Jack Kossoudji and Mujahid Abdel-Ghani contributed a goal and an assist each, while Jacob Deever also provided an assist. The Comets have two crucial games ahead and will need to win both to qualify for the OAC Tournament.
