Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond Wins Lincoln Prairie Conference and completes undefeated regular season

ALAH (Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond) completed an undefeated regular season and won the Lincoln Prairie Conference for the first time since 2004 with a dominant 42-13 win against Sullivan-Okaw Valley. The Knights relied on their strong running game, led by Jayce Parsons and Landon Waldrop, to control the game and keep the ball away from Sullivan’s high-powered offense. Sullivan, however, still finished the regular season with an impressive 8-1 record and will host Clinton in the Class 3A playoffs. In other local high school football action, Mattoon ended Marion’s 17-year streak of consecutive playoff appearances with a 43-28 victory, while Charleston secured a first-round home game in the Class 4A playoffs after a 29-13 win against Salem. Shelbyville, despite a tough loss to Nashville, finished the season with an 8-1 record and will host Trenton Wesclin in the first round. Cumberland, with a 6-3 record, will travel to face Casey-Westfield in the Class 1A playoffs.
