Along with an underwhelming season, reports of a strained relationship between Bob Melvin and current president of baseball operations A.J. Preller surfaced, and Melvin was granted permission to interview for the San Francisco Giants job on Sunday.

On Tuesday, it was reported by The Athletic’s Andrew Baggarly that the Giants are ready to announce Melvin as their next manager.
