MCLA Volleyball Team Secures 3-1 Victory against Bridgewater State University in MASCAC Matchup

The MCLA volleyball team dominated their game against Bridgewater State University, securing a 3-1 victory in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC). The Trailblazers’ strong performance helped them improve their season record to 16-3, with eight consecutive wins and a 5-1 record in the conference. The Bears, on the other hand, fall to 3-12 overall and 1-5 in conference play. MCLA’s victory marks their fourth consecutive win against Bridgewater and brings their all-time series record to 22-8. The Trailblazers showcased their offensive prowess with 49 kills and a .175 hitting percentage, while the Bears struggled with only 34 kills and a .060 hitting percentage. MCLA’s Elizabeth Brown led the team with 14 kills, 21 digs, and two blocks, while Audrey Melson contributed 11 kills. Bridgewater’s Meaghan Coutu stood out with 13 kills and 14 digs, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win. The Trailblazers’ next challenge will be a tri-match against Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and the University of Saint Joseph, while the Bears will face Western Connecticut State University and the University of Southern Maine in Saturday’s tri-match.
