Mountaineers Lose Road Contest at Shepherd

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.V. – The Mansfield Mountaineers Women’s soccer team (3-11-2, 2-10-2 PSAC) was defeated by the Shepherd Rams (5-5-5, 3-5-5 PSAC) with a final score of 3-0 Wednesday afternoon. Shepherd opened the game with an early opportunity when they sent in a through ball to create a 1-on-1 in the box with Mansfield goalkeeper Samantha Merklin. Merklin was able to make a calm save to keep the game scoreless. The lone Mansfield shot on goal came from a corner that found Sam Kozminski’s head but the shot was turned away by the Rams goalie.
