Patrick Kane nearing NHL return; 5 potential landing spots
BUFFALO, N.Y. (BVM) – NHL star Patrick Kane is nearing the end of his recovery from hip resurfacing surgery this summer. With a four-to-six-month window for his return back to the game, Kane is closing in on the opening of that period.
Currently four-and-a-half months into his timeline, ESPN’s Emily Kaplan reported that the veteran winger has been cleared for contact and will look to join a team in “November or December.”
With the date officially in sight, the free agent should have a number of teams contacting him about a potential deal. After being dealt from the Chicago Blackhawks at last year’s trade deadline, Kane helped the New York Rangers in their playoff efforts but couldn’t stave off a first-round exit.
The hope of going further in this year’s playoff should add a few more teams into the mix. Here’s a look at five that could end up in the running for Kane’s services.
