Jerry Jones says Cowboys ‘will trade’; Top 5 possible moves
DALLAS (BVM) – Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones made it very clear to reporters on Thursday that he is a natural risk-taker when it comes to trades. With the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline less than a week away, it sounds like this season will be no different.
“We will trade, make no mistake about it,” Jones told reporters on Thursday. “We will make a deal, but it’s certainly got a high bar because I like our team.”
The 4-2 Cowboys have acquired three key players through trades in the past year – Stephon Gilmore, Brandin Cooks and Johnathan Hankins – and the early returns on those investments might entice Jones to make another move.
Additionally, each of Dallas’ biggest obstacles en route to the NFC’s No. 1 seed – Philadelphia and San Francisco – have made trades in recent weeks: the 6-1 Eagles acquired All-Pro safety Kevin Byard and the 5-2 49ers dealt for veteran pass rusher Randy Gregory.
With that in mind, here are five trades the Cowboys should consider before the Oct. 31 deadline.
