Men’s Cross Country Earns Second-Place Finish at CCIW Championships

WARRENVILLE, Ill. – The Carthage men’s cross country team competed in the 2023 CCIW Cross Country Championships on Saturday. It was a hard-fought race that led the Firebirds to their second consecutive runner-up finish. The Firebirds came in second place with 80 points. North Central won the meet with a near perfect score of 16 points. Wheaton (IL) placed third with 95 points. Millikin placed fourth with 101 points, while Augustana (IL) rounded out the top-five with 113 points. Chase Upmann led the Firebirds with a 14th place finish in 25:34.8.
