Local football teams qualify for state playoffs

Many of the high school football teams in Nash and Edgecombe counties have qualified for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state football playoffs, which start on Friday with first-round games at the higher-seeded teams. Tarboro and North Edgecombe made it in Class 1A, while Nash Central and SouthWest Edgecombe made it in Class 2A and Northern Nash, Southern Nash and Rocky Mount reached the postseason in Class 3A.
