Binghamton women’s soccer season came to a heartbreaking end in the semifinals as they fell to UMass Lowell 2-1 in double overtime. UML scored the go-ahead goal early in the second overtime period and withstood heavy pressure from Binghamton in the closing minutes. It was the first road win of the season for UML. Binghamton was bidding to advance to the title game for the second straight year after repeating as regular season champions. The defeat snapped BU’s nine-game unbeaten streak and was their first loss to a conference opponent in 15 games dating back to last season.
