Utica University’s field hockey team put up a valiant fight against the top-seeded St. John Fisher Cardinals in the Empire 8 Semifinals. Despite their efforts, the Cardinals secured a narrow 1-0 victory to advance to the Empire 8 Championship. The lone goal was scored by Fisher’s Mary Kate McPhee early in the first quarter.
