Varina High School’s freshman quarterback Kaleb Wyche has been named the 804 Varsity Player of the Week. Wyche showed his talent on Saturday, stepping in for an injured teammate and nearly leading the Blue Devils to victory. In the game against Highland Springs, Wyche completed 5 of 9 passes for 195 yards and three touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 47 yards. Despite his impressive performance, Wyche admits that he was not expecting to get playing time on the varsity team and considers his performance as a freshman to be a significant achievement.
