However, the Rangers fought back and tied the match at 1-1. Despite multiple scoring spurts from the Lakers, the Rangers narrowly took the third set. The Lakers, determined to turn the tide, rallied in the fourth set and eventually closed it out with back-to-back kills from Mariana Velasque. In the fifth set, the Lakers were down but stormed back with Velasque scoring five consecutive kills to seal the comeback victory.
