Mansfield Mountaineers Women’s field hockey team ended their incredible 2023 season with a heartbreaking loss in the PSAC semi-final. Despite fighting until the end, they were unable to pull off the upset as they fell 3-2 against defending champion East Stroudsburg Warriors. Mansfield showed resilience throughout the game, with goalkeeper August Lewis making impressive saves. Alex Esterling and Ella Du Plessis scored goals for the Mountaineers, but it was East Stroudsburg’s Madison Kline who sealed the victory with her second goal in overtime. Although disappointed, Mansfield can be proud of their historic season.
