Junior setter Kayla Spangler surpassed 1,000 career assists as USC Upstate volleyball faced Gardner-Webb on Friday. Despite a four-set battle, Gardner-Webb emerged victorious. Spangler passed out 38 assists in the match, bringing her career total to 1,028 assists. Two Spartans also reached double-figure kills, with junior outside hitter Ashleigh Nicoll leading the way with 15 kills. Sophomore right-side hitter MJ Klaumann recorded a career-high 12 kills. USC Upstate will close out its final homestand against Winthrop on Senior Day.
