West Virginia State women’s soccer team had a strong presence in the 2023 All-Mountain East Conference (MEC) teams. Esther Dhiramo and Maxima Bellscheidt earned first-team honors, while Alba Closa was named to the second team. Paula Murcia received an honorable mention. Dhiramo, the team’s leading goalscorer, earned first-team honors for the second consecutive season. Bellscheidt, a defender, played a crucial role in keeping the team’s defense solid. Closa, who captained the team this season, was recognized for her versatility. Murcia returned from injury and made a significant impact in midfield. The Yellow Jackets will now prepare for the MEC Tournament.
