Helena Capital’s return to the Class AA semifinals isn’t a surprise to the Bruins. Despite it being the first playoff start for quarterback MereK Mihelish, he led his team to a 28-6 victory over Billings West in the quarterfinals. Mihelish threw for 203 yards, ran for 143 yards, and threw two touchdowns. The Bruins dominated from the start, scoring on their first drive with a 33-yard completion from Mihelish to Daniel Larson. Helena Capital will now face No. 1 Bozeman in a rematch of last year’s state title game.
