NSU’s season came to a heartbreaking end in the Southland Conference Tournament semifinals, as they fell 1-1 and 5-4 in a penalty kick shootout to top-seeded Lamar. The Lady Demons, who finished the season with a record of 6-10-3, showed great resilience and didn’t lose in regulation in their final five games. The game was tied 1-1 after Sabrina Lopez scored a late goal in the 89th minute to send the match into overtime. However, Lamar prevailed in the penalty shootout to advance to the tournament final.
