ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University women’s soccer (8-7-2) played a hard-fought match from beginning to end, losing in the waning minutes of the double overtime period to the fifth-seeded Eagles of Carson-Newman (8-6-3), 2-1, on Saturday evening at Spero Financial Field. Anderson struck first in the 32nd minute of the first half after a hard struck cross from senior Emma Deadwyler deflected off of an Eagle defender.
