The University of Scranton field hockey team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to the Susquehanna River Hawks in the Landmark Conference Championship game. This marks the third time in five seasons that the Royals and River Hawks have met in the conference title game. After a scoreless overtime, a penalty stroke shootout occurred, with senior Bridget Abraldes scoring for Scranton in the second round. However, the River Hawks ultimately emerged victorious with Lydia Hidlay’s game-winning goal in the fourth shootout round. Susquehanna has secured the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
