Sophomore running back Zayne Cawley had a record-breaking performance in Waynesburg’s 35-26 victory over Bethany. Cawley rushed for an impressive 336 yards and four touchdowns, setting a new single-game rushing record for Waynesburg. His outstanding performance also marked only the second 300-yard rushing effort in the program’s history. Cawley’s contributions were crucial to the Jackets’ win, along with a blocked punt by senior Jaquaivis Valle-Smith and a touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Thomas Burke III to junior wide receiver Dakota Romantino. Waynesburg wraps up their season next week against Washington & Jefferson.
