Laker Volleyball Falls to GVSU in Straight Sets
SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Lake Superior State (LSSU) volleyball team (7-20, 4-12 GLIAC) fell to the Grand Valley State (GVSU) Lakers (22-3, 14-2 GLIAC) in straight sets on Sunday. Grand Valley was able to take an early 7-4 lead but back-to-back kills from Emilee McDaniel helped propel LSSU on a 6-1 run to take the lead. However, GVSU was able to settle down, and despite kills from Valeriya Varnakova (Ufa, Russia) and Maggie Morris (Schoolcraft, Mich.), Grand Valley claimed the opening set 25-16.
