McDaniel, McGowan snag Region 6-5A’s top football awards

The City of Goose Creek retained a tight grip on the region’s top football awards. Nobody outside the city has earned a superlative since Berkeley High School swept both awards in 2018. Stratford High School football coach Dennie McDaniel earned Region 6-5A coach of the year honors after guiding the Knights to the region crown this fall and Goose Creek High School sophomore running back Meliq McGowan garnered region player of the year.
