Sheil secures NJAC Rookie of the Week laurels

PITMAN, N.J. – After providing the final nail in the coffin in the Sea Gulls’ biggest rout of the season, defensive back Patrick Sheil of the Salisbury University football team was recognized as New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. Sheil, a freshman from Fairfax Station, Va., intercepted an Angel Granado pass late in the fourth quarter of the Sea Gulls’ 59-20 win at McDaniel on Saturday, returning it 22 yards and allowing SU to run out the clock.
