Ranking the Milwaukee Brewers’ top 5 manager candidates

MILWAUKEE (BVM) — Craig Counsell led the Milwaukee Brewers to the postseason five out of the last six seasons and they were primed to make a deep run in 2023 after winning their third NL Central title since 2018. However, they fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the wild-card round.

Questions were raised about where Counsell would manage next and he reportedly had conversations with the New York Mets and Cleveland Guardians after his contract expired on Oct. 31.

Those questions were answered on Monday after it was announced that Counsell would be taking over as the Chicago Cubs manager.

He will become the highest-paid manager in MLB after signing a record-setting five-year, $40 million contract and Milwaukee will begin its search for a new manager. Here are the top five candidates who could replace Counsell.
