5 Herons earn all-conference recognition

Five members of the William Smith College field hockey team were recognized by the Liberty League, earning all-conference awards. Graduate student Kate Barilla, senior Cora Nagle and junior Rebecca Mantione were named to the first team while seniors Libby Maxwell and Lauren Jackson earned honorable mention recognition. A defender, Barilla played crucial roles in both the Herons’ offensive and defensive units. She led the team with seven defensive saves this season while also tallying 13 points on five goals and three assists. Two of her five goals were game winners, including her strike against Rochester in the Liberty League semifinals.…
