Julia Chen named NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Year

MIT women’s soccer seniors Julia Chen and Meagan Rowlett have been named NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Year and Player of the Year, respectively. Chen, a repeat winner, anchored the MIT defense, allowing just five goals in conference play. Rowlett led the NEWMAC in goals, assists, and points, becoming the 12th Engineer to earn the Conference Player of the Year award. Both players were joined on the NEWMAC First Team All-Conference by juniors Natalie Barnouw and Ashley English. Junior Lauren Davis and senior Morgan Everett received Second Team honors. MIT won both the regular season and the conference tournament.
