JWU-Providence’s field hockey team dominated the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) awards with head coach Lisa Lopes being named Coach of the Year, junior Haley Budenas as Defensive Player of the Year, freshmen Ava Pontes as Rookie of the Year, and Sophia Brea as Goalkeeper of the Year. The team boasts an impressive 17-2 record this season and has secured their third-straight GNAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.
