How the NBA’s best players spent their first paycheck
Donovan Mitchell
Mitchell can recall the days “when money was tight and things were tough” growing up. So, he made sure that his family was set when he received his first paycheck from his $2.6 million salary in 2017.
“First thing I bought was my mom a car – I got her a nice Audi that she always wanted, that was about $50,000,” Mitchell told GQ Sports.
Mitchell then bought himself a $90,000 Porsche before buying his sister the Jeep that she wanted.
“Once I realized basketball was something I could make a living with, I was like, ‘I’m going to keep working so my mom doesn’t have to work, my sister doesn’t have to work,’” Mitchell previously told Jazz Youth.
