CHICAGO (BVM) – Free agent starting pitcher Marcus Stroman may have had an argument for the game’s top pitcher through the first few months of the MLB season as he sported a 2.28 ERA in his first 16 starts of the campaign.
Injuries would put an unfortunate close to his 2023 run, however, as he returned down the stretch for the Chicago Cubs out of the bullpen. With the hope of returning to full form in 2024, Stroman has decided against opting into his player option as he looks to cash in on the MLB free agent market this offseason.
