Colonels drop marathon match to Tigers in semifinals

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Centre volleyball battled down to the wire in the Southern Athletic Association semifinals against the Sewanee Tigers. The two teams alternated set wins until the Tigers got the win in the fifth set. GAME HIGHLIGHTS – In the opening set the Tigers used an 11-1 run to break a 9-9 tie and never looked back as they won 25-17. – The Colonels bounced back in the second set. Two separate runs of five straight points were the difference as Centre hit over .300 and Syd Bietz put home the last three kills in a 25-15 win.…
