DURHAM, NC – The Shaw women’s soccer team advanced to the Division II Independent Championship finals after throttling Virginia State 4-0 Saturday at Durham County Stadium. The Lady Bears will take on Edward Waters, who earlier defeated Bluefield State 5-2, in Sunday’s championship game at 1:30 p.m. The consolation game pits Virginia State against Bluefield State at 11 a.m. Shaw (13-4-1 overall) set a season high in wins by using its depth.
