Football’s Russell repeats as ODAC Defensive Player of the Week
FOREST, Va. — For the second week in a row, Averett University football fifth-year defensive end Jahlin Russell was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week on Sunday as the Cougars ended the season with a 38-10 home win over Ferrum College. Russell, a native of Richmond, Virginia, totaled 10 tackles, including 3.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. One of his sacks caused a fumble, which was picked up and returned 25 yards by fifth-year linebacker Qumar Price for a touchdown. Russell also had two quarterback hurries.
