Prep Roundup: Area runners compete at Michigan Meet of Champions; McBain ousted in regional title game; Inland Lakes to play for state championship

SHEPHERD — Although the Michigan High School Athletic Association cross country season is in the books after last week’s state championship finals at Michigan International Speedway, runners from across the state met Saturday to compete in the fourth annual Michigan Meet of Champions at Shepherd High School. Buckley’s Aiden Harrand, who won her second individual state title in Division 4 last week with a personal-record time of 17:38.9, finished in eighth place in the Girls Elite 5K race Saturday.
