5 possible landing spots for free agent OF Jorge Soler
1. Arizona Diamondbacks
Similar to Soler’s Marlins, the Diamondbacks surprised last year by going 84-78 and reaching the postseason. However, unlike Miami, Arizona didn’t stop there, shocking everyone by winning a National League pennant. The opportunity to join an organization that appears on the rise and is in position to make another run with some tremendous talent like Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte and Christian Walker may be too good to pass up for Soler. Despite their postseason success, the Diamondbacks were in the bottom half of the league in both home runs and slugging percentage during the regular season. There’s also a likelihood that they lose one of their top bats in Lourdes Gurriel Jr. this offseason, as well as steady veterans Evan Longoria and Tommy Pham. That could all make for the perfect storm for Soler to land in Arizona.
