Volleyball’s Keaveney, Whelpley Garner AVCA All-Region Honors

Junior opposite hitter Erin Keaveney (Collegeville, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) and sophomore outside hitter Deanna Whelpley (Congers, N.Y./Immaculate Heart Academy) were both selected as American Volleyball Coaches’ Association (AVCA) All-Region V First Team selections as released by the organization on Wednesday afternoon. This is the first career All-Region selection for both student-athletes and comes on the heels of the duo receiving All-Landmark First Team honors yesterday. Keaveney ranked fifth in the conference with a .294 hitting percentage and seventh with 272 kills in 28 matches for the Royals.
